First day of pre-k!

I can’t believe he’s actually old enough for school. Tristyn starts pre-k this year and kindergarten next year. Slow down time!

First day of pre-k!!

Whenever it’s snowy I get geeky

Add that with a hot cup of coffee and lets get designing and coding! I have visions and they are going to change over time. My site will evolve over time and it’s exciting!

Fluffy and Galaxy are settling in nicely. It’s funny, hubby and I talk for years about getting the kids a cat and we finally decide on taking in a rescue we know nothing about (Galaxy) and end up crossing paths with another one the day before (Fluffy). Little did I know we’d be getting TWO cats. As much anxiety I had about having two more mouths to feed and two extra vet bills, those kittens sure have been a wonderful positive addition to the family. Fluffy was in rough shape when she arrived, but she is thriving! She went from hissing at everyone and everything that walked up to her and barely able to stand, to this jumping, pouncing, active little fur-ball who has the loudest purr ever and cuddles hard. She’s also putting on some weight and her bones are starting to feel less sharp under that mane of hers. Even Molly is acting like a puppy again and seems to be a lot happier. Galaxy is so playful and sleeps right next to me all night long. He’s got quite the personality.

Now that Cam got permissions fixed (I always struggled with directory permissions) I can play around with themes and hopefully get back to the point I can design my own theme again. That takes time and time for me is limited to nights when the kids sleep.

You don’t belong here.

My son LOVES Garfield. My daughter loves kitty cat everything. Hubby and I have been tossing around the idea of getting a cat while the kids were still young. Molly is 11.5 now and she’s turned gray and she’s really been missing Jonah the past few years and we also thought a cat might be good for her too. So I guess it was no surprise when my husband texts me from work with a “OMG!! Look what we found at work under the saw”

This little beauty is coming home

She’s weak and tired and young but I think she’ll find a good home here. More to come ..

Late night sandwich!

My husband is the best. After playing WoW (World of Warcraft, yes, I’m STILL playing since 2005) with my sister for a bit I got a little peckish. So my husband has decided to make us a sandwich.  There is nothing that beats a late night sandwich when you are a parent. Everything after “bedtime” sort of feels like you’re getting away with something. I think it’s a similar feeling to when I was a teenager getting away with something, lol.  Parenting puts you in your place and makes you humble, that’s for sure!

We go for family drives now, it’s a thing. We started going because after coronavirus, me and the kids stopped going in public places. This meant that we really never drove anywhere. Due to that, Zahkya was a wreck whenever she DID get into a carseat because she wasn’t used to it anymore. So as a family we started going on “drives” and we would try to do it every night. The first month we hardly ever made it out of town before Zahkya was so beside herself that we had to turn around and go home. Fast-forward to present time and got that little problem nipped in the bud. It took persistence and consistency but we have made it thru. I’m pretty sure this time next year we’ll be road trip ready.

I got the greatest pictures of tonight’s drive so after I get my image issue figured out I’ll be able to post pictures.

EDIT: Got my image issue figured out. Thanks Cam.

Where the heck have I been?!

I’m happy and glad to say I’m back. I couldn’t have done this without my very very dear best friend, Cam. It’s not my old .com, however, I feel that the .me is way way more fitting and perfect for my present and future. So the biggest question, where have I been?!

Well .. life changed. Drastically.  I had to disconnect, completely and literally. I had to reconnect with life again and when I did it’s been a whirlwind ever since.  I ended up meeting my husband back in 2013 and by 2014 we were living together in a little 2 bedroom cabin up in the mountains.  No phone, no internet, no cell phone signal, no cable. It was perfect. Due to jobs, we had to move back into the city but the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Early 2015 we got engaged, married and had our first child, a son, by the end of that year.  We welcomed our daughter into our family in late 2017 and we couldn’t be more busy.

I was thinking this morning about what I wanted this blog to look like and what I wanted to do with it. I think I’m going to let it breath on it’s own for now and see what evolves.

Now it’s design time. I have a lot to do.
