    So food is weird now

When I first got home from the hospital, I had to be around food again. I had to make it, I had to watch other people eat it. Food that I love eating, food that smelled so very delicious. I knew I couldn’t have it. It’s clear liquids for me for the first two weeks and then it moves on to pureed food. Then it’s soft proteins and such from there on out until I’m completely healed. Doctor’s appointments and new karate belts

It has been one very very busy day today. It started off with a snowstorm and a very brisk cold morning. I had to drive to Fort Collins for my appointment with my bariatric doctors and dietitian. It went so well, they are just so awesome there. My dietitian feels that I’m on the right track and I’ve lost another 5 pounds in the last 2 weeks. I tried to make an appointment with her primary care doctor and she just didn’t have any openings like I expected. I’m so frustrated with that doctors office. When we first got there she was still having her croup cough (she’s never had it in the…

    Weight Loss Journey starts today

I’m in a race against time. My hips aren’t expected to last more than 6-8 months because of the progression of my bone disease. I can’t get my hip replacements until I lose 77lbs. So my doctor has put me on a weight loss medication and referred me to a bariatric surgeon. I had to attend a seminar last week as a prerequisite to meeting with the bariatric surgeon and meet with them this Thursday. I’m not nervous at all, I’m actually really looking forward to it. I know it’s going to be a major life change. It’s one I’m willing to do because I have to change not only…
